Apostle Angeline B. Sumpter

SENIOR PASTOR

Apostle Angeline Sumpter was born on May 28 in Bennettsville, South Carolina to Lela Mae and Lawrence Brand. After losing her parents at an early age her five sisters and two brothers took care of each other and eventually relocated to High Point, North Carolina. After serving several churches faithfully in High Point the Lord called Apostle Angeline Sumpter to help Pastor Edwin Taylor (deceased), the pastor of Community Deliverance Holiness to build his church along with seventeen other members where it now stands at present. During this time she served in various capacities and established many church ministries such as the street ministry, youth ministry, children’s church, couple’s ministry, armor bear’s ministry, A Light Shines in the prison ministry which was the name of our radio program that was on the air for a number of years. After many years of service to the Lord, in 1984 God called her into the ministry as an evangelist and in 1986 she became an ordained minister. After the passing of our pastor Edwin Taylor and the resignation of the assistant pastor, in 1992 members of Community Deliverance Holiness Church voted Apostle Angeline Sumpter in as senior pastor.

After years of ministry and labors of love, in October 2000 Apostle Angeline Sumpter was ordained as Overseer of the Southeastern District. She was the first woman ordained as Overseer in the Holiness Church of God, Inc. She now has three churches under her leadership, but she has helped many pastors and churches throughout the years. In 2003 Apostle Angeline Sumpter became the president and is currently the General Missionary President for the Holiness Church of God, Inc. She has a prophetic ministry, healing ministry, deliverance ministry and has been ordained to bless the people of God.

She hosts the annual General Missionary Convention at the Love Center located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina which is a facility that the Community Deliverance Holiness Church of God purchased under her leadership as a missionary and community center. Apostle Angeline Sumpter is known as an anointed preacher, teacher, apostle, prophet and motivational speaker. There have been many souls saved, healed, delivered and restored under her ministry. She is an anointed and powerful woman of God whom God is using in a great and mighty way. Presently having a long-standing commitment to working with youth, couples, families, churches, ministries, and community outreach organizations in various communities throughout the state of North Carolina, spanning over 40 years. She has been a member of several community activities throughout the years, an executive member of the Black Leadership Round Table, a board member of the High Point Weed and Seed Steering Committee, a board member of the High Point Task Force, and a board member of the Neighbor to Neighbor. She also served as a mediator for One Step further for many years. Apostle Sumpter is the Founder and Chairman of Love Community Development Corporation whose mission is to revitalize communities and families spiritually, economically by providing programs: Tutoring Program, GED Program, Job Links, Senior Services, Youth Enrichment Programs/Services and other services which includes the Love’s Food Panty and Community Enrichment Center to sustain a healthy and prosperous quality of life for those in the community. The nonprofit 501(c) (3) corporation has sponsored Your Money Counts Financial Literacy Conferences, USDA Funding Conferences and Neighbor to Neighbor Workshops. She also founded a program called Youth Caught in Action (YCIA) purpose is to help strengthen, motivate, support and reward young people everywhere both spiritually and naturally towards a more discipline and positive life style in their churches, homes, schools and communities. There is an annual YCIA Day where we celebrate and award the youth for being positive role models and citizens. In 2007 she was nominated and awarded the Women of the year by the National Republican Congressional Committee for all the businesses she has started and the job opportunities she has given to those in need.

In October 2018, she was consecrated as Bishop-Designate in the Holiness Church of God, Inc. under His Eminencies Bishop Theodore Roosevelt Rice. This was just the manifestation of what God spoke and called her many years earlier giving her the “Bishopric”. She is a woman not defined by titles or men but the One and Only True Living God, His voice does she listen for and is moved by and His will does she work to please. Her focus, love and dedication have and will continue to be to help our COMMUNITIES and SAVE SOULS.

She is married to Deacon Cal Sumpter; they have been married for over 50 years. They have three natural children: a daughter Elder Vicky and two sons Trustee Ronald and Darrin, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
